Magic Castles abruptly appeared in 2005 as a home recording project of Minneapolis songwriter Jason Edmonds. A band assembled in 2007 and have self-released two albums, "The Lore of Mysticore" (2008), "Dreams Of Dreams Of Dreams" (2009), and a tape cassette with Minneapolis label Moon Glyph, "Songs Of The Forest" (2009)

Magic Castles effectively recall late ‘60s psychedelia, yet carefully avoid sounding redundant. Their albums were lovingly engineered by local sound guru Tom Herbers (Low, Andrew Bird). Echoes, fuzz, distortion, sweet melodies, shadowy vocals, taut harmonies, haunting and ominous organs mesmerizes with blissful layers that could make one forget time and space. Ultimately, the music takes your mind to dream-like places and invokes your own memories of feelings lost or found.
